Identification Help

These are two males. Here is the same darker male from another photo.

Trichius fasciatus details

In the upper right you can that the first tarsus is big and ball-like. This feature is the same with all Trichius species, and makes it a male.

Below you can see the middle leg with a clearly pronounced tooth. This defines the male Trichius fasciatus species. No other male Trichius has this.

To determine the female you'll need to turn it over and look at the underside (abdomen).
